Englert and Hickey earn Landmark Conference Awards

WASHINGTON- Brendan Englert was named Landmark Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Landmark on Thursday. Junior Walter Hickey was named to the Second Team All-Landmark.

Unfortunately Englert's career was cut short when he passed away tragically prior to the end of the season, but the Landmark coaches were unanimous when voting him as the Player of the Year. The junior attackman earned First Team All-Landmark recognition after earning Second Team honors last year and Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman.

He racked up 31 goals with 21 assists to lead the conference in points and tie for first in assists during the regular season. Englert scored 11 goals and added seven assists in four conference games including three goals and two assists in an overtime loss to Drew.

Hickey netted 28 goals for CUA this season including seven man-up goals and four goals against three different opponents. He scored seven goals against conference teams and finished the season in second in goals and points (29). The midfielder scored the winning goal in overtime against Williams on March 23.
