Holak named Defensive Player of the Week by Landmark Conference
WASHINGTON – Freshman Harrison Holak has been named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday. Holak helped lead CUA to a 9-1 victory over Hood College on Saturday, in what was his first career start. The Pennsylvania native sent back 13 shots on the day.
Holak registered 13 saves on Saturday, including six in the fourth quarter. He also totaled four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers as the Cards forced the Blazers into 24 turnovers.
The first-year keeper stopped 92.9 percent of the shots he faced in what was his first collegiate action.
Holak and the Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday evening when they travel to Virginia to face Marymount. The game will take place at Long Bridge Park in Arlington with the opening face-off set for 7 p.m.
