WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team improved to 13-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in Landmark Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium as the Cards celebrated Senior Day with a win over Moravian, 13-7.
Senior attackman Tim Keith led the way with a six-point day as he scored five goals which included three-straight in the first quarter to put the Cards up early, 5-1. Keith rounded out his impressive day with five groundballs and a caused turnover.
Fellow senior Victor Licata scored the first two goals of the game as the Cardinals never trailed. Licata went on to put Catholic up 6-1 at the start of the second and also posted a full line with three groundballs and two caused turnovers.
A third senior also joined Keith and Licata as multi-time scorers as Ethan Rodriguez buried two with both scores coming in the second half.
The Catholic defense was strong as they held Moravian to just six shots in the first half and 13 through the first three quarters. The Cards also forced 10 turnovers in the first 30 minutes and 19 for the game.
