WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team battled at Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon but were edged, 10-8. Catholic completes its best regular season in program history with an overall record of 13-2 and 5-1 Landmark record.
It was a two-goal game into the final period but Elizabethtown scored twice to open the fourth to build a 9-5 advantage. Junior Bennett Bradley answered on a man-up opportunity as he netted his second goal of the game, but the Blue Jays scored just 1:35 later.
Catholic went on to score twice in the final 48 seconds as Bradley found senior Tony Fisher for the score before senior Victor Licata got one in the cage with seven ticks left. However, the Cardinal rally ran out of time.
Bradley finished his day with four points as he assisted on the first goal of the game scored by Licata.
Senior Tim Keith joined Bradley and Licata with multi-point days as he scored one goal and assisted on another.
Freshman goalie Alex Mulyk made seven saves in the game and finishes his rookie campaign with and 8-2 record.
Catholic is the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Conference Playoffs and will host No. 3 Drew on Wednesday, May 3, at Cardinal Stadium at 7 p.m.
