Men’s Lacrosse Releases 2018 Schedule

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse head coach Brooks Singer has announced the 2018 schedule for the Cardinals. Catholic opens the season in Charlottesville, Va., against NCAA-qualifier Sewanee on Saturday, February 10 and plays its home-opener against Randolph-Macon on Saturday, February 17.

The 2018 Cardinal slate features four teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Sewanee starts things off, followed by a road matchup on Wednesday, February 21, against a Hampden-Sydney team that advanced to the sweet 16 and finished the season ranked No. 18 in the nation.

Catholic also hosts two tourney qualifiers, New England College on Saturday, March 3, and then a rematch of the Landmark Conference Championship against Elizabethtown in the season finale on Saturday, April 28.

The Cardinals' nonconference schedule is rounded out with home games against Arcadia (2/24), Marymount (2/28), Mary Washington (3/10) and St. Mary's (Md.) (3/16). Additionally, Catholic will take on Clark in Clearwater, Fla., on March 7.

Landmark Conference play starts at home for the Cards as they host Drew on Saturday, February 24. Conference games in Brookland include Susquehanna (4/7) and the showdown versus E-town.

Road landmark games feature Scranton (3/29), Goucher (4/18) and Moravian (4/21).

The Landmark Conference Semifinals are set for Wednesday, May 2, with the Championship on Saturday, May 5.

Coach Singers' team will be led by 2017 All-Region midfielder and USILA Scholar All-American Bennett Bradley, the team's leading scorer and point-man last season. The Cardinals midfield will be strong with fellow seniors Liam Clancy and Matt Michalski, junior Luke Scaduto along with sophomore Mark Tocchio back in the fold.

The Cards will also boast an experienced and talented defense with senior Brian Schmidt, juniors Patrick Kamm and Kyle McLaughlin and sophomore Charles Kraemer back with the long poles.
