Ospreys Sneak Past Cards
A Richard Stockton goal at the 1:57 mark of the fourth quarter proved to be the downfall of the CUA men's lacrosse team Saturday evening, as they fell to the Ospreys by a score of 9-8. With the loss, the squad falls to 2-2 on the year.

CUA men's lacrosse goalie Sean McKenna (Rockville,Md./Good Counsel) has been named Landmark Conference Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts in games against DeSales and Randolph-Macon last week.

Yellow Jackets Sting Cardinals
Despite the outstanding offensive efforts of junior midfielder Jimmy Sinnott (Blue Bell, Pa./LaSalle), the CUA men's lacrosse team could not overcome the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets in Sunday afternoon's non-conference game. The Cardinals, now 2-1 on the year, fell to RMC by a score of 13-9.

Led by Kyle Brant (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's), who finished with three goals on eight shots, and adding an assist, CUA defeated DeSales, 9-4 in a non-conference matchup Friday afternoon.

Cardinals Place Two on All-Landmark Squad
The Catholic University of America men’s lacrosse team had two players named to the All-Landmark Conference squad the league announced Wednesday. Senior goalkeeper Greg Kavazanjian (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) was honored with a first team selection while junior attack Kyle Brant (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's) was named to the second team. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team with 12 honorees on each team. The voting for the team was done by position.

DiGiesi Named Landmark Player of the Week
Catholic University defender Mike DiGiesi (Cherry Hill, N.J./St Joseph's Prep) has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defender of the Week after helping CUA to a 1-1 performance over the past seven days. CUA completed its season on Saturday with a 7-9 overall record and a 2-4 mark in conference.

Cardinals Fly Past Greyhounds 16-5
The Catholic University men’s lacrosse dominated the Moravian College Greyhounds (4-12, 0-6 Landmark) Saturday in both teams final Landmark Conference game. CUA got off to a strong start and never let up winning 16-5. The Cardinals finish the season 7-9 and 2-4 in the Landmark Conference.

Seven Overtimes Not Enough in CUA Loss
Three hours and seven overtimes was not enough for the Catholic University men’s lacrosse squad to get a victory Tuesday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium. After leading for much of regulation, the Cardinals fell 10-9 to the York College Spartans (6-6) in a seven-overtime thriller. CUA is now 6-9 on the season with one game to go.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team continued to struggle Saturday with an 8-6 conference loss to the University of Scranton Royals (12-3, 4-1 Landmark). CUA was held scoreless during the second quarter which proved to be the key in the loss. The Cardinals are now 6-8 on the season and 1-4 in the Landmark Conference.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team (6-7, 1-3 Landmark) took one on the chin Wednesday in a 13-1 loss to Landmark Conference rival, the Goucher College Gophers (9-3, 4-0 Landmark). CUA managed just one goal in the first quarter before going ice cold for the reminder of the game.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team suffered a tough loss at the hands of the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners (6-6, 2-2 Landmark) Saturday at Cardinal Stadium. CUA started out strong but allowed a pair of fourth quarter goals that decided the Landmark Conference game. The Cardinals are now 6-6 overall and 1-2 in the Landmark Conference.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team won its second straight Monday with a 6-4 victory over the Eastern University Eagles (3-8). The teams went into halftime tied but a big fourth quarter from the Cards sealed the win. CUA is now 6-5 on the season.

Second Half Rally Give CUA First Conference Win
The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team started off slow but a huge second half surge secured the 12-3 victory over the Susquehanna University Crusaders (3-7, 1-2 Landmark). The Cards scored ten goals in the second half including a 10-0 run to get the Landmark Conference win. The Cardinals are now 5-5 overall and 1-1 in Landmark play.

Saints Deal Cards 10-2 Defeat
The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team lost 10-2 Tuesday afternoon to former conference foe, the Marymount University Saints (6-5). The Cardinal defense held the Saints to just one goal in the first quarter, but couldn’t keep up the momentum allowing seven scores in two quarters. With the loss the Cards drop to 4-5 on the season as they prepare for Susquehanna on Saturday.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team lost 14-4 to the Drew University Rangers (3-4, 2-0 Landmark) Saturday afternoon in New Jersey. The Cardinals struggled to find the back of the net despite just a 49-42 shot differential. With the loss CUA drops to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in the Landmark Conference.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse squad lost a tough one by one goal Wednesday to the Christopher Newport Captains (5-4). The Cards led going into the fourth quarter but allowed two CNU goals for the 9-8 loss. The Cards are now 4-3 on the season.

The Catholic University men's lacrosse team defeated Farmingdale State (0-4) 9-7 Thursday afternoon in New York. The Cardinals trailed at the half but came back with a 5-0 run in the third quarter to get the victory. The Cards are now 4-2 on the season.

A late three-goal run wasn’t enough for the Catholic University men’s lacrosse team (1-2) to overtake the Richard Stockton College Ospreys (1-2) Wednesday afternoon in New Jersey as the Cards fell 7-6. Sophomore Mike Scotto (Belmar, N.J./St Rose) notched three goals in the game including two of the final trio but his heroics fell short as time expired.

The Catholic University men's lacrosse squad suffered its first defeat of the season Sunday afternoon in an 11-2 loss to the Randolph-Macon College Yellow Jackets (2-2). Kyle Brant (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's) scored CUA’s two goals of the game but the defense couldn’t stop RMC’s potent offense. With the loss the Cards fall to 1-1 on the season.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse squad (1-0) started off on the right foot Saturday with a 12-3 victory over the Emerson College Lions (0-3) at Cardinal Stadium in its home opener. Freshman Pat Becker (Telford, Pa./Souderton) along with junior Kyle Brant (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's) each notched a pair of goals for CUA as the Cards shutout the Lions in the second half.

USMMA Tops Landmark Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Poll
The United States Merchant Marine Academy men’s lacrosse team has been picked as the favorite in the first season of competition in the Landmark Conference as selected in the Landmark Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Poll. The head men’s lacrosse coaches and sports information directors at each institution that sponsors the sport were polled for the preseason ballot. CUA was selected fifth out of the seven squads.

The Catholic University of America Department of Athletics released the spring sports schedules Wednesday afternoon. The schedules include women’s lacrosse, men’s lacrosse, track and field, baseball and softball. Information will be added as each season approaches.

CUA Men's Lacrosse Volunteers at Heros Tournament
On April 21, 2007 Madlax, a Virginia based lacrosse distributor, hosted The Hero's Lacrosse Tournament. The tournament CUA head coach Brooks Singer and the CUA men's lacrosse team volunteered at the event. The inaugural Hero's Lacrosse Tournament was held in honor of Army Specialist Thomas "TJ" Barbieri II.

#1 Sea Gulls End CUA’s Season 27-2
The Catholic University men’s lacrosse drew the toughest opponent in the country in the opening round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. Facing the Salisbury (16-0), the #1 team in the nation and currently undefeated, CUA went into the game remembering a 24-2 loss the first game of the season. Unfortunately Tuesday’s outcome wasn’t much better as the Cards fell 27-2. The loss eliminated CUA from tournament play concluding its season at 5-10.

CAC Tournament Begins Monday
After a jam-packed spring season the Capital Athletic Conference has announced the pairs for five of its seven championships. The Catholic University Cardinals will be well-represented in the mix with a trio squads earning three seeds. This week’s games mark the final time that CUA will play in the CAC Tournament as the Cards are joining the newly-formed Landmark Conference in 2007-08.

Phil Reinckens (Bethesda, Md./St. John's College) contributed three goals on Senior Day but his effort couldn’t give Catholic University men’s lacrosse the win over the St. Mary’s Seahawks (9-4, 5-2 CAC) Thursday afternoon. The Cardinals fell 14-6 in their final game in the Capital Athletic Conference before tournament play. With the loss CUA falls to 5-9 for the season and 2-6 in the CAC.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team fought back from a 5-0 deficit against the Eastern University Eagles (3-5) but in the end it was enough as the Cards fell 8-6 Thursday afternoon in Pennsylvania. Freshman Mike Groh (Walpole, Mass./Xavarian Bros) staged the comeback with three goals but CUA fell short as time expired dropping the team to 5-8 on the season.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team (4-7, 2-5 Capital Athletic Conference) was defeated 11-2 by the Goucher Gophers (4-4, 3-2 CAC) Saturday afternoon at the DuFour Center. The Cards outshot the Gophers 44-31 but misfired on a number of occasions.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team lost a tough game to the Marymount Saints (3-6, 2-3 CAC) Wednesday night. CUA scored the final six goals of the fourth quarter to force overtime but fell 11-10. The Cardinals drop to 4-6 for the season and 2-4 in the CAC.

Cardinals Fall to #20 Kenyon
Catholic University men’s lacrosse fell 10-4 to the #20 Kenyon College Lords (6-0) Saturday afternoon in Ohio. The game marked the third time that CUA has played a nationally-ranked opponent, with the loss the Cardinals dropped to 4-5 on the season.

Catholic University men’s lacrosse beat the Hood Blazers (0-9, 0-4 CAC) 11-8 Thursday evening at Cardinal Stadium. CUA had three players score multiple goals in the victory that improved the squad to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the Capital Athletic Conference.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse team managed a 10-5 victory over the King’s College Monarchs Friday afternoon at the DuFour Center. The win gave CUA its first win on the team’s brand new turf and improved the squad to 1-1 while King’s dropped to 0-2. Freshman Mike Groh (Walpole, Mass./Xavarian Bros) put together another strong showing with four goals while the Cards displayed a balanced attack with six other players scoring.

The Catholic University men’s lacrosse squad (0-1, 0-1 Capital Athletic Conference) couldn’t have chosen a tougher team to beat for their first game of the season than the Salisbury Sea Gulls (3-0, 2-0 CAC). The #1 Sea Gulls defeated CUA 24-2 in Maryland Friday afternoon dropping the Cards to 0-1 for the season before they fly south for spring training this upcoming week.

Cardinals to Participate in Fall Events
