Men's Lacrosse 2009 Community Service
On Monday, August 3, CUA Men's Lacrosse coaches and players participated in a Lacrosse Demonstration at Kimball Elementary School in the Anacostia area of Washington, DC. The purpose of the demo was to introduce lacrosse to a number of neighborhood youth groups in the Anacostia area. The youth groups who were in attendance included the Southeast White House, the 859 House, and Team Champions. CUA players and coaches were joined by members of WINNERS, the inner-city youth lacrosse association that has partnered with CUA Men's Lacrosse in a variety of ways, along with coaches and players from UMBC and Dartmouth colleges. The day was a success as the participants learned about the game of lacrosse, were awarded prizes, and had fun along the way! CUA Men's Lacrosse is working with WINNERS and the Anacostia youth groups on the next event which is to occur in the fall.
