Lax game vs. Adrian ppd; McKenna named Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – The CUA men's lacrosse team's game vs. Adrian, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, February 28 has been postponed until Tuesday, March 1.  The teams will begin the game at 1 p.m.  Also on Monday, CUA's Sean McKenna was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

McKenna played a key role in helping lead the Cardinals to a dramatic 8-7 overtime win vs. Frostburg State this past weekend.  The junior goalkeeper stopped 12 shots on the afternoon, including six in the fourth quarter, in helping CUA down the Bobcats in comeback fashion.

After surrendering three goals in the first quarter McKenna regrouped to allow only four the rest of the way.  In addition to his 12 stops McKenna scooped up three ground balls.

CUA is currently 2-0 on the young season after defeating Marymount and Frostburg State.  Following its game with Adrian on Tuesday the Cardinals will host Gwynedd-Mercy on Saturday afternoon with the opening face-off slated for 1 p.m.
