Landmark Conference names Brendan Englert Offensive POW

WASHINGTON – Brendan Englert has been named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  In two games for the Cardinals last week Englert scored nine goals and handed out three assists to go along with 13 ground balls and a caused turnover.

Englert started his week with four goals, including the game-winner, an assist and nine ground balls in CUA's 17-6 win over Shenandoah on April 12. 

The first year standout then had a hand in seven of CUA's nine goals against Goucher on Sunday afternoon when he found the back of the net five times and also dished out a pair of assists.

For the season Englert has scored a team-leading 53 points on 31 goals and 22 assists.  Three of his goals have been game-winners.  He also has 33 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Englert and his Cardinal teammates return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to New York to take on Merchant Marine Academy.  The game will be played at Centre Island Beach Village Park in Bayville beginning at 1 p.m.
