Dan Ambrose is the team’s Associate Head Coach, as well at the Catholic University Athletics Assistant Athletics Director for Business. He is in his 12th year coaching men's lacrosse at Catholic. He is the team’s offensive coordinator, and he oversees practice planning and team operations. Ambrose continues to use his experience and energy to help the Cardinals reach new levels of success each season which included a Landmark Conference Championship and NCAA playoff appearance in 2015.
The 2015 season will marked the 21st year that Ambrose coached lacrosse at the youth, high school or college level. Prior to joining the Cardinals, he was the head coach at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA, and prior to that time he was an assistant coach at Southlake Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas.
Ambrose graduated from Summit High School playing for the New Jersey state champion Summit Hilltoppers. He then went on to play at the University of Delaware as a midfielder. After Delaware, Ambrose received his degree in Biology and Spanish from the University of Nebraska. He later earned his MBA from the University of Texas-Dallas.
Ambrose has also coached various all-star club teams, and is co-director of the Capitol Lacrosse Camp. He currently resides in Oak Hill, Va., and lives with his wife Sandy and dog Piper. His daughter Alex currently attends Syracuse University.
