Steve Cariello is in his first year coaching with the Cardinals
program. He graduated from Iona College in 1998, with a B.B.A in
finance. Cariello was a three-year starter for the Gaels lacrosse
team and captained the team his senior year. He will be the
team’s strength & conditioning coach, in addition to
working with the midfield and on developing team strategies.
The 2013 season will mark the 11th year that Cariello has
coached lacrosse at the youth, high school or college level.
Cariello will look to use his experience and energy to help the
Cardinals reach new levels of success. Prior to joining CUA,
Cariello was the head coach at Tuscarora High School in Leesburg,
Va., assistant head coach at Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Va.,
and head coach at The Fay School in Southborough, Mass.
Cariello is currently the Program Director and a coach for Madlax
All-Star teams. In addition, he has four years of personal training
experience developing team strength and conditioning programs, as
well as individual specific programs.
Cariello earned his master’s degree in Sports Administration
from American Military University in 2010. Currently, he
resides in Ashburn, Va. with his wife Melody, dog Jake, and cat
Nikki.
