DiMarco earns second straight Academic All-District honor

WASHINGTON – One day after earning a spot on the All-Landmark Conference first team, senior Mike DiMarco was rewarded for the work he's done in the classroom by being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.  DiMarco is one of only 11 student-athletes named to the DIII District 2 Team.

An accounting major, DiMarco maintains a 3.73 grade point average.  He is a multi-year member of the Dean's List and Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll and is involved in a number of clubs and organizations.

A native of Voorhees, N.J., DiMarco is the co-founder and co-president of CUA's committee to improve the accounting curriculum, he serves as President of SAAC, he is a tutor for the office of academic success, he's a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society and he's in CUA's honors program.

On the pitch, DiMarco is a two-time first team All-Landmark Conference selection, and he was the Landmark Rookie of the Year in 2008.  This season, DiMarco has scored four goals, handed out three assists and totaled 11 points.  One of his goals was a game-winner.

This marks the second straight year that DiMarco has earned Academic All-District honors.

On Saturday, DiMarco and the Cardinals will try for their third consecutive Landmark Conference championship when they host Merchant Marine Academy at CUA Soccer Field.  Start time is set for 2:30 p.m.
