Pair of game-winners nets Fleri Player of the Week honor

WASHINGTON – After scoring game-winning goals in both of CUA's wins last week, Ben Fleri was rewarded by being named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.  Fleri scored an overtime goal on Tuesday to defeat Washington College and then added his second game-winner at Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday.

Fleri began his week with a game-winning goal in the 92nd minute to defeat Washington College 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday.  Fleri recorded two shots on the night, with his second lifting the Cardinals to victory.

On Saturday, Fleri was at it again, this time scoring in the 65th minute to send CUA to another 2-1 win and vault the Cardinals into first place in the Landmark Conference standings.

For the season Fleri has scored three goals and totaled seven points.  His three goals are tied for second on the Cardinals and his seven points rank third.

Fleri and the Cardinals get back on the pitch on Wednesday evening when they play host to McDaniel inside Cardinal Stadium.  Start time is set for 7:30 p.m.
