CUA cracks national rankings, up to third in region
WASHINGTON – CUA’s recent strong play continues to
garner attention regionally and nationally, with the Cardinals
moving all the way up to third in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the
NSCAA rankings. In addition, CUA debuted at No. 24 in this
week’s NSCAA national poll, while continuing to receive votes
in the D3soccer.com poll.
The Cardinals were eighth in the region last week, but bolstered
by a pair of victories CUA moved up five spots to No. 3 in the
Mid-Atlantic Region. The Cardinals also move into the
national rankings at No. 24, ahead of No. 25 Ogelthorpe (Ga.).
At 12-3, CUA is in the midst of a historic run, having won a
school-record eight consecutive matches, five of which have come on
the road.
The Cardinals are holding teams to 1.27 goals per game, while
scoring 2.2 per contest. They’ve outscored their
opponents by a combined 16-8 count in the second half of matches
this season and outshot them 135-77 during that time.

CUA will play twice this week, both at home, beginning with a 3:30
match vs. St. Mary’s on Wednesday, and a 1:00 showdown with
Drew on Saturday.
