Brennan named Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week

WASHINGTON – Senior Mike Brennan was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, after scoring two goals, including a game-winner, in a pair of wins for CUA last week.  Brennan and the Cardinals recently earned the No. 2 seed in Landmark Conference Tournament.

Brennan scored in the 78th minute in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Salisbury, which came in as the No. 7 ranked team in the South Atlantic region.  The senior captain then netted the lone goal in the Cardinals' 1-0 win over Drew on Saturday.

For the season, Brennan leads CUA with seven goals, four assists and 18 points.  Three of his goals have been game-winners.

Brennan and the rest of the Cardinals are back in action on Thursday afternoon when they play host to Scranton in the Landmark Conference Tournament semifinals.  Start time is set for 3 p.m.

The Cardinals have appeared in the last four conference championship matches, winning two titles during that time.
