Cardinals move into top-10 of NSCAA regional rankings
WASHINGTON – After winning its last three matches and
capturing the Rowan University Invitational title, the CUA
men’s soccer team has moved into the No. 10 spot in the NSCAA
Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, released on Tuesday. The
Cardinals are currently 3-1 on the season.
After dropping their first match of the season in overtime to
Dickinson, the Cardinals have regrouped to win three straight,
including a thrilling 3-2 double overtime victory vs. Rowan over
the weekend. Earl Hamilton netted the game-winner for CUA,
while Mike Brennan captured Tournament MVP honors.
Hamilton ranks second on the squad with two goals and five points,
with Ian Smith leading the way with four goals and eight
points.
Defensively, Torsten Meuschke has stopped seven shots in goal in
over 280 minutes of action.

The Cardinals play twice this week, first traveling to face Mary
Washington on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. match, before returning home
to face the nation’s No. 9 ranked team, the Messiah Falcons,
on Saturday beginning at 1.
