Magin, Pires named to All-Conference teams

Junior goalie Todd Magin (Fredericksburg, Va./Courtland) and sophomore David Pires (Freehold, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) were honored on the 2001 All-Conference teams. Magin was named to the first team while Pires garnered second-team honors.
Magin posted a 10-6-2 record and was among the league leaders in shutouts (6.5) and goals against average (1.11 GAA). He opened up the 2001 season at the Swat Kick Classic at Swarthmore by posting back-to-back shutouts against Swarthmore and Widener.
Pires started 17 games this season and was recognized for his outstanding defensive play. He was part of the CUA defense that helped record seven shutouts on the season.
Mary Washington, the 2001 CAC Tournament Champions, placed six members on the all conference squads. St. Mary's received a share of two awards as senior Ryan Olsen was named the conference's Player of the Year while teammate Brian Wolcott shared the CAC Rookie of the Year award with Marymount's Edwin Beltran. The Eagles' Roy Gordon was selected as the league's Coach of the Year.
