10/03/06

WASHINGTON - Matt Brady (Woodbridge, Va./Potomac) was named the men's soccer Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on October 1st.  Brady led the young Cardinals, who have been gaining momentum, to a 2-0 weekly record improving them to 3-5-1 for the season.

Brady had four goals and two assists for ten points in two games for the Cards.  In the team's 8-1 win over Gallaudet, the freshman forward scored two goals and added one assist with a 60 percent shots on goal percentage.  Against Columbia Union, Brady also had two goals and an assist including connecting on both penalty kicks he attempted.

The first-year forward has been making his mark on the conference all season ranking first in the conference in every goal-scoring category.  His 12 goals and 27 points are good enough for an average of three points per game.

CUA will travel to Mary Washington on Wednesday for a conference match-up beginning at 3:00 p.m.
