FREDRICKSBURG, Va. - Catholic University men's soccer fell to the Mary Washington Eagles (8-2-0, 3-0 CAC) Wednesday afternoon.  The Cardinals 4-2 loss drops them to 3-6-1 on the season and 1-3 in the CAC while the Eagles sit atop the conference at 3-0.

At 13:23 Tommy Park made it 1-0 when he scored off of a quick pass by Vincent Kooijman who had received the ball from Michael Johnson.

CAC Player of the Week Matt Brady (Woodbridge, Va./Potomac) continued his outstanding freshman campaign with a goal at 42:44.  The assist was given to senior Erik Wyche (Tabernacle, N.J./Cherokee) for his second of the season.

Kooijman then scored two goals to go up 3-1.  His first was from Luke Hostetter and the second was off of a corner kick by Tommy Di Nuzzo.

The Cardinals brought it back to a one-goal deficit when freshman midfielder Edward Dawson Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll) put home his first goal of his collegiate career on an unassisted shot.  Unfortunately, CUA couldn't get the equalizer and Johnson connected in the 85th minute to make the final 4-2.

Joe Schettino (Easton, Conn./Joel Barlow) had seven saves for the game against the Eagles 21 total shots.  The Cards managed six shots and were also awarded four corner kicks.

CUA will play at Hood College this Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
