Cards Fall on Senior Day
Moravian wins 3-0 in the Landmark contest
WASHINGTON - The Catholic University men's soccer squad (6-9, 2-4 Landmark) fell to the Moravian College Greyhounds (6-10, 3-3 Landmark) Sunday afternoon at the DuFour Center Upper Fields by a score of 3-0. The loss came on CUA's senior day where they honored the six graduating seniors in the team's final home contest.
The Greyhounds scored first when Daniel Scavone bent a long free kick into the net to make it 1-0. The remainder of the half was scoreless with the Greyhounds keeping the one-goal advantage at the break.
The Greyhounds made it two in the second half taking advantage of a corner kick rebound. The ball was crossed from the corner and a CUA defender headed it out but Michael Tarulli found the rebound and shot it from the top of the box to increase the lead to two. The final goal came when a cross was tipped by a Cardinal defender back to Tarulli who hit his second of the afternoon to make the final 3-0.
