Shoremen Edge Cards 1-0
CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Catholic University men's soccer team (5-7) lost to the Washington College Shoremen (4-8) Tuesday evening in Maryland. In the evenly matched contest the Shoremen managed to find the back of the net early on and held onto the lead.
The only goal of the game came in the 31st minute when Tony Armiger streaked down the field on a fast break and Frank Borrelli started the chain to Brian Schultz who found Armiger. Freshman keeper Quinn Daly (San Diego, Calif./St. Augustine) was unable to stop it putting the Shoremen up 1-0 which would be the final after 90 minutes of play.
Both teams recorded ten shots for the game and CUA held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. Marc Petrucci had four saves and the win while Daly took the loss with two saves.
The Cardinals will host Drew this weekend in a Landmark Conference doubleheader, the men will begin at 3:30 p.m.
