CUA Men's Soccer Puts Two on All-Landmark Squad
Cardinals finish the season 6-10

11/1/2007

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University men's soccer squad had two players named to the Landmark Conference second team the organization announced Thursday.  CUA finished the season 6-10 under first year Head Coach Travis Beauchamp improving on the previous season's record with a solid group of players.  Senior Jon Otto (Jefferson Township, N.J./Pope John XXIII) and sophomore Brian Pappas (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) were both voted to the second team after outstanding seasons.

Otto, a senior captain, was selected to the second team as a defender after playing in 13 games this season with ten starts.  Otto had four shots on goal for the season but his major contributions came on the defensive end.  Otto and his fellow defenders allowed just 32 total goals this past season, he served as the leader of the backline.

Pappas had a breakout season at forward for the Cardinals.  He was tied for the top spot in scoring with 17 points on the year coming from a team-high eight goals and one assist.  Pappas played in all 16 games for CUA with 15 starts to his credit.  He had a hat trick against Gallaudet and was named to the all-tournament squad at Frostburg State in CUA's season-opening tournament.

The Cardinals completed their season at 6-10 and boast a number of key returners for 2008.
