Men's Soccer Edges Wesley
DOVER, Del. - CUA midfielder Kevin Duffy (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) recorded an outstanding three goals as the Cardinals defeated host Wesley College in a non-conferene match up Wednesday evening.
Wesley (10-6-2) gained the advantage early over the Cards (11-4) in the 16th minute of play. The lead was nullified just 10 minutes later in the 26th minute, as Duffy blasted the ball past the Wolverine keeper for his first goal of the night.
The 1-1 tie stood until the 60th minute, where Duffy once again took control and found his way to the back of the net. A Wesley shot from 35 yards out knotted the score at 2 a piece in the 84th minute.
Once again, Duffy proved to be the difference for the Cardinals in the 87th minute, taking a cross from Matt Brady (Woodbridge, Va./Potomac) and finding the back of the net for the deciding goal. Duffy stands as CUA's second leading scorer of the season with 8 goals thusfar.
Cardinal goalie Quinn Daly (San Diego, Calif./St. Augustine) recorded an impressive 7 saves on the night. CUA will return to action on November 1st for a 3 p.m., match against Susquehanna.
