Men's Soccer Blanks Washington
WASHINGTON- Michael DiMarco's (Vorhees, N.J./St. Joseph's Prep) first half goal was all the CUA men's soccer team needed to elevate themselves to a 1-0 victory over Washington College Tuesday evening. The team adds another win to their impressive 9-1 record, including the last 7 consecutive contests, the best start in CUA history.
Despite out-shooing their opponent 18-2, neither team could find the back of the net for the majority of the game. DiMarco's scored his second goal of the season at the 42nd minute mark. After a scramble in front of the net, teammate Kevin Duffy (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) found the freshman midfielder, who chipped the ball into the mesh. The Cardinal's tenacious defensive efforts were enough to hold their opponent scoreless, as CUA snatched the 1-0 win over the Shoremen.
The Cardinals return to the field on Sunday, October 12 for a 3 p.m., home game against the Scranton.
