Late Goal Lifts Stockton Over Catholic

POMONA, NJ- A goal scored in the 84th minute of Friday evening's game gave Richard Stockton (2-0-1) the 2-1 victory over Catholic University (2-1). The game was the first round of the 2008 Stockton Seashore Classic.

Stockton opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the first half. The lone goal would go unmatched until late in the second half when CUA's Michael DiMarco (Voorhees/ St. Joseph) scored off of a pass from Adrian Davis (Towson, MD/ Calvert Hall).

While it looked as though the game would be forced into overtime, Richard Stockton's Pat Tolomeo chipped in a goal with just six minutes left in regulation. Catholic was unable to tie up the contest, and the game ended with a score of 2-1 in Richard Stockton's favor.

Sophomore goaltender Quinn Daly (San Diego, CA/St. Augustine), recorded three saves in the loss. The Cardinals return to action with a home game against Shenandoah on September 11. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
