Men's Soccer Drops Susquehanna, 2-1

Men's Soccer Drops Susquehanna, 2-1 9/26/09 SELINSGROVE, Pa.-- Tim McAneny scored two goals as CUA men's soccer (7-1, 1-0 LC) dropped Susquehanna (3-6, 0-1 LC), the 2008 Landmark Conference Champion, 2-1.

The Cardinals took only six shots in the game, but McAneny's 35-yard blast in the 42nd minute put CUA on the board before the break. Just over ten minutes into the second half, McAneny took a free kick from 25-yards out and beat the keeper to put CUA up 2-0.

Shane Atha found mesh in the 80th minute for Susquehanna but only managing one more shot in the contest, the hosts could not find the equalizer.

The Cardinals took this rematch of the 2008 championship match, but with a pair of yellow cards against each squad and an 18-15 foul margin the game was just as intense.  Quinn Daly made four saves in the contest and was helped by a defensive stop as well.

CUA will return to action at 4 p.m. on Sept. 29 as the Cardinals will welcome St. Mary's (Md.) to the CUA soccer fields before traveling to Merchant Marine for a conference match on Oct. 3 at 10:45 a.m.
