Daly named Defensive Player of the Week by Landmark Conf.
WASHINGTON – Following a pair of wins at the
Hampden-Sydney Classic over the weekend, senior goalkeeper Quinn
Daly was named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week
on Monday. Daly totaled seven saves in 180 minutes of action
and was named to the All-Tournament Team as CUA upped its record to
4-2.
In the tournament opener on September 11 versus Marymount, Daly
sent back one shot in helping lead CUA to a 1-0 victory over the
Saints. It was Daly’s first shutout of the 2010
season.
On Sunday, September 12 Daly was more than up to the challenge of
slowing a tough Hampden-Sydney squad as he turned back six shots in
90 minutes of work as the Cardinals downed the Tigers 3-1.
Following the match Daly was named to the All-Tournament Team for
his performance.
Daly has logged over 440 minutes of action this season, having
stopped 18 shots in that time. He has accounted for three of
CUA’s four wins.
Daly and the rest of the Cardinals return to the pitch on
September 16 when they travel to take on Mary Washington.
Match time is slated for 4:00.
