CUA wins again, downs DII Chestnut Hill 5-4 in S.C.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The wins keep coming for the CUA men's tennis team, after the Cardinals defeated Division II Chestnut Hill 5-4 on Wednesday evening.  Jean Paul Roman, Brian Bradley, Joe Peters and Kyle Kramer each won singles matches, while Bradley and Jason Quisberth picked up a crucial doubles point for CUA.

With the win on Wednesday, CUA now sits at a perfect 7-0 on the year, including a perfect 3-0 on the Cardinals current spring break trip.

Yoanna Pham won the first singles match for Chestnut Hill, downing CUA's Cassian Utrie 6-3, 6-3.  Roman earned the Cardinals first point of the night with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Julius Twyman at the second flight.

Bradley downed Jeramy Solema 6-3, 6-1 at the third flight, while Quisberth fell to Michael Pecoraro 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 at the fourth flight.

Peters and Kramer closed out the singles matches with two more wins for CUA, defeating Sim Heeren and Stephan Wolfert, respectively.  Peters picked up a hard-fought 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 win at the fifth flight and Kramer earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at sixth singles.

Pham and Twyman earned an 8-5 win over Utrie and Roman at first doubles, while Solema and Pecoraro downed Peters and Kramer 8-6 at the second flight.

Bradley and Quisberth tilted the match in CUA's favor though, by downing Heeren and Wolfert 8-3 at the third flight.

On Thursday, CUA faces Northwestern (Minn.) at 3 p.m. in its penultimate match on the spring break trip.
