CUA opens Landmark Conference play with 9-0 sweep
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – CUA bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 9-0 sweep of Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon. Picking up singles points for CUA were Cassian Utrie, Jean Paul Roman, Brian Bradley, Joe Peters, Jason Quisberth and Kyle Kramer.
Utrie won the first singles match 6-2, 6-4 over Michael Hickey, and Roman earned a 6-0, 6-1 win against Garrett Lynn at the second flight.
Bradley defeated Jeremy Neville 6-1, 6-0 at third singles and Joe Peters upended Mats Haaland 6-1, 6-2 at the fourth flight.
Quisberth picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at fifth singles and Kramer closed things out with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Alec Green.
Utrie and Roman won the first doubles point 8-2 against Hickey and Lynn, while Peters and Kramer picked up an 8-2 win vs. Matthew Quadrini and Haaland at second doubles.
Bradley and Quisberth finished things off with an 8-2 win at the third flight.
CUA returns to action next Saturday, when the Cardinals host Merchant Marine Academy on March 24. Start time is set for noon.
