Landmark Conference announces men's tennis preseason poll
WASHINGTON – CUA has been voted third in this year’s
Landmark Conference preseason poll, it was announced on
Tuesday. The Cardinals earned 71 points in the poll, 15 more
than fourth place Moravian.
CUA went 14-6 a season ago, including a 5-2 mark within the
Landmark Conference. The Cardinals earned a spot in the
conference tournament, before falling to Scranton in the semifinal
round.
Three Cardinals earned All-Conference honors, including current
senior Jean Paul Roman.
CUA picked up right where it left off from last season during the
fall, going a perfect 4-0, with wins over St. Mary’s, Hood,
Dickinson and York.
Drew took the top spot in the preseason poll after garnering 89
points, which was 11 more than second place Scranton. CUA was
next with 71 points, followed by Moravian (56), Juniata (51),
Susquehanna (34), Goucher (27) and Merchant Marine Academy
(14).
CUA opens its 2012 spring schedule on March 5 when the Cardinals
take on Lebanon Valley in Hilton Head, S.C. Start time is set
for 3 p.m.
