CUA falls to first place Drew 7-2 in New Jersey
MADISON, N.J. – CUA dropped a 7-2 decision to first place Drew on Saturday on the road. The Rangers, who are unbeaten in the Landmark Conference, won four of six singles matches and all three doubles points. Brian Bradley and Kyle Kramer earned singles wins for CUA at the third and sixth flights, respectively.
At first singles, CUA's Cassian Utrie was swept by Raul Smego 6-0, 6-0, while Jean Paul Roman dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Matt Brisotti at second singles.
Bradley picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Adam Gerber at the third flight, but Drew's Elliott Smego defeated Joe Peters 6-0, 6-0 at the fourth flight.
At fifth singles, the Cardinals' Jason Quisberth fell to Djedjy Hill 6-4, 6-5, while Kramer earned a hard-fought 6-2, 2-6, 13-11 win at the sixth flight over Matt Imbo.
In doubles action, Raul and Elliott Smego defeated Utrie and Roman 8-1 at the first flight, and Brisotti and Imbo downed Kramer and Peters 8-0 at the second flight.
Drew's Hill and Ryan Johnson closed things out with an 8-6 win over Bradley and Quisberth at third doubles.
CUA has one regular season match remaining, which will take place on Saturday, April 21 when the Cardinals host Juniata at 12 p.m.
