CUA keeps it rolling with 7-2 win over Northwestern (Minn.)
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – CUA won its eighth straight match on Thursday with a 7-2 win over Northwestern (Minn.). The Cardinals received singles wins from Cassian Utrie, Jean Paul Roman, Brian Bradley, Joe Peters and Kyle Kramer.
Utrie got things started for CUA with a 6-4, 6-3 win over David Knight at the first singles flight, while Roman earned a 3-6, 6-3, 13-11 victory vs. Caleb Krauss at the second flight.
Bradley then downed Keagan Blancke 6-3, 6-0 at the third flight. Jason Quisberth was upended by Jimmy Ekman 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles, but CUA won the final two matches to earn two more points.
Peters downed Phillip Gudim 6-0, 6-1 at fifth singles and Kramer defeated Agassi Mila 7-5, 6-3 at the sixth flight.
In doubles action, Utrie and Roman downed Knight and Kauss 8-4 at the first flight, and Peters and Kramer picked up an 8-1 win over Blancke and Ekman at second doubles.
Gudim and Henslee earned an 8-1 win over Bradley and Quisberth at the third flight for Northwestern's second point of the day.
The Cardinals close out their spring break trip on Friday when they go up against Milligan. Start time is set for 11:30 a.m.
