Cardinals enjoy plenty of success during spring break trip
WASHINGTON – During CUA’s spring break in early
March, the Cardinal men’s tennis team packed its bags and
headed for sunny Myrtle Beach, S.C. CUA enjoyed one week of
no classes, bonding with coaches and teammates, and plenty of
tennis.
The Cardinals were nothing short of dominant while in South
Carolina, winning all four matches they played. CUA defeated
Lebanon Valley 9-0, Westminster 8-1, Chestnut hill 5-4 and
Northwestern 7-2. Those four wins improved the Cardinals to
8-0 for the academic year.
Brian Bradley went a perfect 4-0 in singles matches for CUA during
spring break and also 3-1 in doubles competition. For his
efforts, Bradley was named the Landmark Conference Player of the
Week.
Head Coach Marty Dowd and the Cardinals have gone 1-1 since
returning from their trip, with the loss coming against Division I
foe Loyola (Md.). CUA still has six matches left this season,
with each coming vs. conference opponents.
