Roman named Landmark Conference Player of the Week
WASHINGTON – Jean Paul Roman has been named the Landmark
Conference Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
Roman went a perfect 4-0 for CUA last week, winning both of his
singles matches and two doubles matches. Roman is the second
Cardinal to earn the award this spring, after Brian Bradley did so
on March 12.
Roman helped lead CUA to a 2-0 mark last week, as the Cardinals
improved to 3-0 in the Landmark Conference. The senior earned
a 6-2, 6-0 win at second doubles vs. Moravian on Saturday, and then
on Sunday, he swept USMMA’s Tim Buxton 6-0, 6-0 at the second
flight.
Roman also added an 8-3 win at first doubles on Saturday, and an
8-1 win on Sunday at first doubles.
For the season, Roman has registered an impressive 10-1 record in
singles play, including a perfect 3-0 mark vs. conference
foes. He is also 9-2 in doubles action, with all nine wins
coming at the first flight.
Roman and the Cardinals travel to Pennsylvania on Thursday for a
noon match vs. Scranton.
