Dowd inducted into the Catholic University Hall of Fame

WASHINGTON- Men's tennis coach Marty Dowd will be inducted into the Catholic University Hall of Fame in the fall. Dowd has coached longer and has more victories than any other active CUA coach. In 50 years of coaching he has racked up 544 career wins.

Dowd earned his 500th career victory on March 9, 2010 when the Cardinals defeated DeFiance College 6-3 in Hilton Head, S.C.  

He has a career record of 544-357, good for a winning percentage of .656. Dowd also achieved an incredible 43 winning seasons during his long and storied career.

While playing tennis at CUA, Dowd led the squad to a 27-3 record in his final two years, including a perfect 15-0 finish as a senior. Undefeated in doubles those two seasons, his overall record was an impressive 48-5. He graduated from CUA in 1960 with a bachelor's in art.

Dowd ended the 2012-13 season with a 12-7 overall record and 5-2 record in the Landmark Conference.
