Cardinals earn 5-4 win over conference foe Scranton
WASHINGTON – The Cardinals picked up their second Landmark Conference win of the season on Saturday, downing Scranton 5-4. Brian Bradley, Schuyler Hayward, and Jason Quisberth won singles points for CUA, while Bradley and Cassiant Utrie, along with Hayward and Quisberth earned doubles wins.
In singles play, Bradley took down Tim McGurrin 6-4, 6-0 at the 1st flight, while Hayward defeated Bennett Kelley 6-1, 2-6, 6-0 at the 5th flight.
At 6th singles, Quisberth earned a 6-0, 6-4 win over James Delkiewicz.
Scranton's David Teres won the 2nd singles point, 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 over Utrie, while Kyle Kramer fell to Joe Morra, 6-3, 6-3 at the 3rd flight.
At 4th singles, Joe Peters was upended by Mike Pannone 6-0, 7-5.
In doubles action, Bradley and Utrie defeated McGurrin and Teres 8-6 at the 1st flight, while Hayward and Quisberth teamed up to earn an 8-6 win at the 3rd flight.
Kramer and Peters fell at the 2nd flight, 8-2.
CUA is right back to work on Sunday afternoon, hosting Susquehanna at 1 p.m.
