CUA cruises past Crusaders 8-1 to complete 2-0 weekend
WASHINGTON – CUA completed a 2-0 weekend with an 8-1 win over Susquehanna on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals swept the singles points, with Brian Bradley, Cassian Utrie, Kyle Kramer, Joe Peters, Schuyler Hayward and Jason Quisberth earning wins. CUA also won two doubles matches.
Bradley and Utrie both swept their respective singles matches, at the 1st and 2nd flights.
Kramer defeated Mats Haaland 6-2, 6-0 at 3rd singles, and Peters picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Ian Endresen at the 4th flight.
At 5th singles, Hayward picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Kevin Schneider, and Quisberth closed singles play out with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Ryan Van Valin at the 6th flight.
In doubles competition, Bradley and Utrie teamed up for an 8-2 win over Michael Hickey and Garrett Lynn at the 1st flight, while Hayward and Quisberth took down Schneider and Endresen 8-5 at the 3rd flight.
Kramer and Peters dropped an 8-6 decision to Haaland and Jeremy Neville at 2nd doubles.
CUA returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when the Cardinals make the short trip north to face Goucher. Start time is set for 3 p.m.
