Cardinals breeze past Westminster to earn third straight win
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – In its final match of spring break,
CUA breezed past Westminster 8-1 on Thursday, for the Cardinals
third straight win. Brian Bradley, Cassian Utrie, Kyle Kramer, Joe
Peters, Jason Quisberth and Schuyler Hayward swept the singles
points for the Cards, while Bradley and Quisberth, along with
Peters and Kramer won doubles points.
In singles play, Bradley swept past Troy Abbott 6-0, 6-0 at the
1st flight, while Utrie made quick work of Sean Black 6-1, 6-0 at
the 2nd flight.
At 3rd singles, Kramer took down Brad Thomas 6-2, 6-2, while
Peters earned a hard-fought 7-6, 4-6, 10-7 victory at 4th singles
against Mike Matisi.
Quisberth defeated Ryan Carr 6-2, 6-4 at the 5th flight and
Hayward picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Mark Andino at 6th
singles.
Bradley and Quisberth defeated Black and Abbott 8-2 at 1st
doubles, while Peters and Kramer downed Thomas and Matisi 8-6 at
the 2nd flight.
Joe Trinity and Conor Wilson were upended 8-1 at 3rd doubles by
Carr and Michael Finelli.
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, March 16 when they
open Landmark Conference play at Merchant Marine Academy. Start
time is set for noon.
