CUA Stumbles in First Round of CAC Tourney
Cards finish the season 10-8
WASHINGTON- The Catholic University men's tennis squad (10-8) fell to the Goucher Gophers, 6-3, Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. The fifth seeded Gophers took advantage of CUA missing two of its regular players to upset the fourth seed.
Winners for the Cards included two single matches and one doubles. John Dillon at number two singles was victorious over Wynn Thane 6-4, 6-1. At number five singles Adam Leonard beat Doug Mangi 6-1, 6-4. In doubles play the number one team of Andrew Kracht and Dillon won 8-6.
The Cards end the season 10-8 and will join the Landmark Conference next season along with the Gophers.
