Cards drop to 2-7 on the season
MADISON, N.J. - The Catholic University men's tennis squad had a tough day on the court Saturday as it lost 9-0 to the Drew University Rangers. With the loss the Cards fall to 6-4 on the season and 2-1 in the Landmark conference. The Rangers continued their streak of 59 consecutive conference wins.
At number one singles, Andrew Kracht (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) played a close match falling 7-6, 6-2 while John Dillon (River Forest, Ill./Fenwick) also forced extra points at number two 7-6, 6-0. Playing in the fourth position, Rich Sheaffer (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) suffered a close loss 7-5, 6-2.
The Cardinals will look to rebound on Thursday as they travel to Gettysburg for a 3:30 p.m., match.
