Dillon and Kracht Earn
Cardinals are #2 seed in the conference tournament
WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America men's tennis squad had two players named to the All-Landmark Conference team the league announced Wednesday. Senior Andrew Kracht (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) was given the nod to the first team while his classmate John Dillon (River Forest, Ill./Fenwick) earned second team honors. The pair was also named to the first team in doubles play.
Kracht is currently 9-8 on the season with a 4-3 conference record playing at the number one singles position. He is currently on a hot streak winning his last five matches with four coming against Landmark opponents. In the league, he is ranked third overall among players at number one with five or more matches and in conference he is fifth at the one spot among athletes with three or more decisions.
Dillon is 12-6 overall on the season playing primarily in the number two singles position, he is 5-2 in the Landmark Conference. The senior has also won his last five matches of the season starting with a tough three set battle at Gettysburg. In overall wins at number two he is ranked second in the Landmark with a 9-3 record and in conference play at the two spot he ranks third.
The team of Kracht and Dillon was also selected to the first team going 12-5 at number one doubles and posting a 5-2 conference record. Overall they rank second in the Landmark and number one and third in league play at that position.
The All-Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Team is selected by the conference's eight head coaches. The team consists of a first and second team, with six singles players and three doubles pairings per team.
The Cardinals have earned the second seed in the conference tournament with a 10-5 overall record and a mark of 6-1 in Landmark play. CUA will host the third seeded University of Scranton today in the conference semifinal.
