Men's Tennis Wins One On Spring Break but Plays Solid Throughout

WASHINGTON-- From March 1st through the 7th the CUA mens tennis team traveled to Hilton Head, S.C. hoping for warmer weather and success on the court.

The Cardinals trip to Hilton Head, S.C. started with a loss to Wartburg College, 7-2.  Only Sr. Luigi Alverado and freshman Mike Pratt won in singles.  No doubles teams won for CUA.

On March 3rd, the Cards lost to a strong York (Pa.) College team, 9-0.  Luigi Alverago at the No. 4 position took the only set from Steve Collison in a losing cause.

Augustana College took on the Cards March 4th and the result was Augustana 8, CUA 0.

The Cards won their first match against Notre Dame College (Ohio), 4-2.  At No. 1 Jean Paul Roman outplayed Jimmy Loudevin 6-3, 6-3.  Alverado, Connor Donnelly and Mike Reaney all had wins for CUA.

On March 6th CUA lost a close match to Lebanon Valley College, 6-3.  Roman, Alverado and Joe Gribbin were the only wins for CUA.

Following spring break, CUA took on Division I Loyola University.  Loyola defeated CUA 9-0.  The Cards failed to win a set against the talented Greyhounds.
