Landmark Conference announces preseason poll
WASHINGTON – The CUA men’s tennis team has been
voted fourth in this year’s Landmark Conference preseason
poll, released on Monday. The Cardinals received 52 points in
the poll, which is voted upon by head coaches and sports
information directors at each of the conference institutions that
sponsor men’s tennis.
Three-time defending league champion Drew tops the poll with 83
points, while Scranton was next in line with 68 points.
Coming in third was Moravian with 62 points, followed by CUA with
52.
Rounding out the poll were Juniata (45), Susquehanna (44), Goucher
(24), and Merchant Marine Academy (14).
The Cardinals posted a 3-2 record during the fall season, which
included wins over Hood, McDaniel and St. Mary’s.
CUA is currently in South Carolina for its annual spring break
trip. The Cardinals take on Marian (Ind.) on Monday in a
12:30 p.m. match and will play three matches in all while down
south.
