Utrie earns win in Cardinals 2010 fall opener at Loyola
BALTIMORE – Freshman Cassian Utrie picked up a win at
second singles on Friday afternoon as the CUA men’s tennis
team opened its 2010 fall season with a 7-2 setback to Division I
Loyola (Md.). Utrie downed Bobby Gorczakowski 6-1, 6-2, while
Joe Peters took Dan D’Agostino to three sets at third singles
before falling 4-6, 7-6, 2-4.
In third doubles play, Peters and Kyle Kramer earned an 8-6 win
over Patrick Glaessner and Rob Mattison to pick up CUA's second
point of the afternoon.
The Cardinals will return to action on Sunday, September 12 when
they play host to St. Mary’s (Md.). Action gets
underway beginning at 1:00.
