CUA men sweep McDaniel 9-0 in Maryland
WESTMINSTER, Md. – The CUA men's tennis team
registered an impressive 9-0 win over McDaniel on the road on
Sunday afternoon. Jean Paul Roman took part in the
day's most exciting singles match as he downed Brian Kron
7-5, 6-3 at fourth singles, while Kyle Kramer and Jason Quisberth
earned a hard-fought 9-7 win at third doubles.
At first singles, Bernardo Nogales defeated Ben Faber 6-4, 6-0,
while Cassian Utrie downed Justin Ward 6-3, 6-0 at second
singles.
In third singles action Joe Peters earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over
Steve French and at fifth singles Brian Bradley downed Chad Palman
6-1, 6-0. Joe Gribbin closed things out with a 6-0, 6-1 win
over Luke Schmidt at sixth singles.
In double action, Utrie and Peters defeated Faber and Ward 8-3 in
the first flight, while Nogales and Roman swept French and Palman
8-0 at second doubles.
The Cardinals will return to action on September 22 when they host
the University of the District of Columbia. Match time is set
for 3:30.
