Cardinals run win streak to four with second straight sweep
WASHINGTON –CUA extended its winning streak to four with its second consecutive 9-0 win on Monday, this one coming vs. Shenandoah. The Cardinals received a 6-3, 4-6, 13-11 win by Bernardo Nogales at first singles and no other CUA player needed more than two sets to put away the Hornets.
Cassian Utrie won the second singles flight 6-0, 6-1, while Joe Peters took down Dustan DeMello 6-1, 6-3 at the third flight. Brian Bradley kept things going with a 6-1, 6-3 win at the fourth flight and Kyle Kramer earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Adam Bamberger at fifth singles.
Joe Gribbin finished things off with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Tim Lutz at sixth singles.
Utrie and Peters won the first doubles match 9-8 and Nogales and Jean Paul Roman followed with an 8-1 victory at the second flight. Kramer and Jason Quisberth closed the win out for CUA with an 8-4 win at third doubles.
On Wednesday CUA will welcome Stevenson to the nation's capital. The match is slated for a 3:30 p.m. start.
