Joe Gribbin is in his second season as an assistant coach with
the CUA men’s tennis program. A 2011 graduate of
Catholic University, Gribbin was a four-year member of the
Cardinals, culminating with his selection to the All-Landmark
Conference Team as a senior.
Gribbin posted a mark of 16-1 in 2010-11, including 16 straight
victories to close out the season. His lone loss of the
entire academic year came vs. Division I Loyola (Md.) and from
there he went unbeaten. Gribbin was a perfect 6-0 in
conference play and won 15 of his 16 singles matches at the sixth
flight. He also picked up two wins in doubles.
Gribbin was honored with CUA’s Jone Dowd Student-Athlete
Role Model Award, which is presented annually to a male and female
student-athletes who exudes graciousness in victory, humility in
defeat and rallies their peers to consistently compete at a high
level in athletics and beyond.
A native of Washington, D.C., Gribbin earned his bachelor’s
degree in mathematics. He was a multi-year member of the
Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
