Quigley and Schramm earn All-Conference honors at champs

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 2012 Landmark Conference outdoor championships are now in the books after the Cardinals earned a sixth place finish on Sunday.  Joe Quigley earned All-Conference honors in the 800, finishing second, while Pete Schramm did the same in the discus.

In the 800 meters, Quigley crossed in second place with a time of 1:55.21, while Michael Spielberger was sixth (1:58.44) and George Brewer came in 14th (2:03.58).

Matt Zemba finished seventh in the 400 meters, crossing in a time of 52.07 seconds, while Spielberger (4:07.18), Brewer (4:16.28) and Chris Derks (4:21.88) placed 8th, 18th and 20th, respectively, in the 1500 meters.

In the 10,000 meters, Kian Olia produced a top-ten finish with a time of 34:23.98 and Dylan Jones came in 13th, crossing in 35:22.20.

Mike Puskar finished the 5000 meters in 10th place with a time of 16:19.81, with Kyle McKenna coming in 18th (18:23.85).

In the field events, Schramm's throw of 132'10" in the discus was good for second place and a spot on the All-Conference Second Team.  Shawn Brubaker also competed in the event, finishing ninth with a throw of 112'11".

Brubaker then earned a third place finish in the hammer, after a throw of 137'9", while Schramm was 13th after a throw of 86'5".

Schramm then recorded a seventh place finish in the shot put with a throw of 40'2", and Brubaker placed 11th with a throw of 36'5 ¾".

The Cardinals scored 33 points to finish sixth in the team standings, while host Moravian took the top spot with 233 points.  Susquehanna was second with 196.5 points, followed by Juniata (138), Merchant Marine Academy (103.5), Goucher (60) and CUA.
