CUA opens indoor season at Bow-Tie Classic

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – CUA placed 11th at the 13-school Bow-Tie Classic on Saturday to open the 2012-13 indoor season. Joe Quigley had the top finish for CUA, racing his way to a third place showing in the 800 meter run.

Quigley crossed in a time of 2:03.97 to earn six points for the Cards.

In the mile, Mike Spielberger finished fifth with a time of 4:45.25, while Matthias Arauco-Shapiro was seventh (4:46.80) and Lucas Milone was eighth (4:48.95).

Gwynedd-Mercy took the top spot in the team standings with 80 points, followed by host Ursinus College with 71 points and Elizabethtown with 69.

CUA is now off until next year when the Cardinals head to Newport News, Va., for the Captains Invitational on January 20. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
