Quigley earns All-Conference honors at outdoor championships

TOWSON, Md. – CUA wrapped up action at the Landmark Conference outdoor championships on Sunday afternoon. Joe Quigley earned All-Conference accolades after racing his way to a 2nd place finish in the 800, while Shawn Brubaker picked up a 3rd place finish in the hammer throw.

In the 800, Quigley raced his way to All-Conference honors with a 2nd place finish. The senior crossed in 1:56.35 to earn CUA eight points in the team standings.

Collin Roszyk placed 8th in the 400, crossing in a time of 52.31 seconds, while John Brewer came in 8th place in the 800 (2:00.19).

Matthias Arauco-Shapiro finished 8th in the 5000, crossing in a time of 15:55.46, and in the 400 hurdles, Nick Pavia raced his way to a 7th place finish, crossing in 1:02.86.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team finished 3rd, posting a time of 3:26.69.

In the field events, Brubaker came in 3rd place in the hammer with a throw of 145’ 2”.

On Saturday, Kiernan Powell was CUA’s top finisher, with a 6th place showing in the javelin.

Michael Spielberger (4:15.19) and Brewer (4:15.99) came in 13th and 14th place, respectively, in the 1500, while John Scotto came in 8th in the long jump.

Moravian claimed the team championship after the Greyhounds scored 312 points. Susquehanna with 239.5 points and Merchant Marine Academy with 96 points rounded out the top-three.

Juniata (76.5), CUA 29) and Goucher (11) were in 4th, 5th and 6th place, respectively.
